The Lead HVAC Installer is responsible for managing the successful execution of commercial HVAC installation projects from start to finish. This role leads crews of installers and helpers, coordinates workflow and materials, ensures quality control, and maintains project timelines. The Lead HVAC Installer collaborates with engineers, project managers, and other trades while ensuring work is completed to company standards, customer expectations, and all applicable codes and safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all phases of HVAC system installation, including new construction and upgrades in existing commercial buildings (large projects).
- Delegate tasks, provide guidance, and lead a team of 2-10 installers.
- Coordinate workflow, material needs, equipment delivery, and project scheduling.
- Attend Progress Meetings to Coordinate with other Sub-Contractors and General Contractors.
- Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, deadlines, budgets, and safety standards.
- Train and mentor apprentices and team members to promote growth and skill development.
- Communicate project updates, challenges, and progress to management.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation.
- Verify compliance with building codes, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Perform equipment startups, calibrations, and confirm proper system functionality after installation.
- Conduct final quality checks and resolve any installation issues.
- Stay current on technologies, installation methods, and industry best practices.
- Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Regular, predictable, and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Minimum (5) years of commercial HVAC installation experience preferred.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
- EPA Certification a plus.
- Already certified or willing to be trained in equipment licensing, First Aid, and CPR.
